Role: Senior Manager, Market Access - Oncology

What you'll do

• Build and execute Japan's market access and reimbursement strategy for cancer related industry
• Prepare reimbursement dossiers, manage submissions to MHLW and Chuikyo, and lead pricing negotiations.
• Secure national and hospital-level access through strong value messaging.
• Adapt global tools such as health economic models and value stories for Japan.
• Generate local real-world evidence (RWE) and lead evidence-generation projects.
• Act as the single point of contact for all Japan market access initiatives.
• Advise distribution partners and support the commercial team on private insurance and hospital contracts.
• Monitor personalized medicine pricing and reimbursement policy.
• Share learnings with the international team and make sure Japan's needs are reflected in global plans.
• Contribute to product lifecycle and portfolio strategy.
• Work with trade associations to promote access and value-based pricing.

 

 

Must-haves

• A university degree in a related field.
• 6–8+ years in market access, pricing, or health economics.
• Deep knowledge of Japan's healthcare and reimbursement system, with a proven record of successful reimbursement outcomes.
• Fluency in both English and Japanese.
• Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills, including PowerPoint and Excel.
• Right to work in Japan without sponsorship, and willingness to travel, sometimes overnight or on weekends.
• Comfort with a fast-paced, high risk/reward environment.

Nice-to-haves

• An advanced degree such as an MD, PharmD, PhD, MSc, or MBA, ideally in health economics.
• Experience in Oncology.
• Oncology experience, which is strongly preferred.

Salary: 800 ~ 1700万円
