Job Function / Position: DXG CS / Practice Architect (Mainframe Modernization Domain) Job Title: Practice Architect (Mainframe Modernization Field)
Employment Type: Full-time (Regular Employee)
Salary: Negotiable Salary

Annual Salary: ¥10,000,000 - ¥15,000,000 (Negotiable)

  • Salary Increase: Annually

  • Commuting Allowance: Up to ¥20,000 per month

  • Family Allowance: ¥10,000 per dependent (spouse, child)

  • Housing Allowance: ¥30,000 per month (provided to all employees)

  • Bonus: Available (paid twice a year)

  • Job Allowance: Includes fixed overtime of 40 hours per month (extra overtime paid

    separately)

A - Job Responsibilities:

The Practice Architect is a senior-level solution architect. The main duties include leading and supervising the planning, design, and implementation of technology best practices, ensuring alignment with organizational strategic goals and standards. Focus will also be on driving mainframe modernization, transforming legacy systems into cutting-edge platforms, improving performance and agility.

B - Key Roles:

  • Ensure that both company and customer business goals are technically aligned.

  • Promote best practices from design to delivery standards and reduce technical debt.

  • Implement and integrate cutting-edge technologies, including mainframe modernization, to

    enable innovation.

    C - Primary Responsibilities: Practice Development:

  • Design and implement end-to-end practices, including best practices, solutions, tools, and processes for cloud, automation, and mainframe modernization.

  • Develop and document reference architectures and modernization roadmaps for legacy mainframe systems.

  • Introduce modernization approaches such as re-hosting, re-platforming, refactoring, and decommissioning legacy systems.

    Pre-sales Support:

  • Develop mainframe modernization solutions for customer proposals, including work breakdown and accurate cost estimates.

  • Showcase modernization and cloud transformation strategies through proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and product demonstrations to internal and external clients.

  • Lead best practices for mainframe modernization during customer engagement. Project Implementation:

• Play a key role in customer projects, supporting project teams in ensuring technological best practices align with the project’s implementation.

D - Desired Background: Knowledge:

  • Expertise in mainframe modernization technologies such as COBOL, PL/I, JCL, CICS, DB2.

  • Knowledge of modernization approaches such as re-hosting, re-platforming, refactoring, and hybrid solutions.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms for mainframe migration, such as AWS Mainframe Modernization, Azure, Google Cloud.

Cloud and Automation:

  • Proficient in architectural and design patterns: microservices, event-driven systems, serverless architectures, and APIs.

  • Skilled in automation and DevOps tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and cloud-native automation services.

    Security and Compliance:

• Deep understanding of compliance for both legacy and modern systems, including SOC 2 and GDPR.

Emerging Technologies:

• Awareness of trends like edge computing, IoT, and hybrid cloud solutions for legacy transformation.

Experience:

  • At least 8 years of experience in mainframe-related projects, including modernization initiatives.

  • Proven ability to lead the transition from legacy applications to modern platforms.

  • Experience in cloud transformation and DevOps, implementing automated infrastructure and

    CI/CD pipelines for modernized mainframe systems.

  • Cross-department collaboration experience to ensure alignment of mainframe modernization

    projects with business goals.

  • Mentoring experience, introducing new tools and methodologies for legacy transformation.
