Description
Our client is a long-established global Tier-1 automotive supplier. It serves major automakers across programs in vehicle automotive electronics. The company blends design integration with functional technologies delivering co-developed solutions to OEMs. They have engineering and manufacturing sites across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
In Japan, they are hiring for a Sales Account Manager.
Responsibilities:
Own the business and customer relationships (existing and new biz dev) for one or more assigned product lines; act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries.
Prepare quotations and pricing scenarios in coordination with your manager and cross-functional project teams.
Participate in pricing discussions and annual price negotiations with customers, in alignment with leadership.
Support the planning and execution of negotiations (e.g., new acquisitions with international scope, change management, cost life-cycle topics, refunds, framework agreements).
Contribute to development projects for assigned product lines and customers; initiate or stop internal developments with stakeholders; route and manage tasks from/to internal and external parties; drive product-specific rationalization and value-add measures with program management; process customer- or company-initiated change orders post-gate.
Escalate issues (internally and externally) when committed objectives are at risk.
Review customer contract documents against internal requirements and coordinate with legal, quality, program management, and other functions as needed.
Provide detailed customer feedback to global project teams and plants to align customer requirements with company capabilities.
Support production/operations as needed to meet customer expectations.
Lead business planning and internal reporting (volume forecasts, target pricing, and other data required by global stakeholders).
Administer and maintain sales tools and data (e.g., CRM, price files, customer master data) in accordance with global processes.
Requirements
5+ years in automotive sales experience, preferably Tier 1 or Tier 2.
Pricing & negotiation: builds quotations, models pricing scenarios, and participates in annual price talks and framework agreements.
Project & change management: coordinates development projects, processes ECOs/changes, and drives value-engineering/rationalization with program management.
Contract/quality compliance: reviews customer contracts against internal policies; works with legal, quality, and PM to align terms and deliverables.
Cross-functional execution: partners with global project teams and plants; supports production/operations to meet customer expectations; escalates risks early.
Tools & reporting: proficient with CRM (e.g., Salesforce), price files, and forecasting; delivers accurate volume/price reports to global stakeholders.
