Senior Director / VP – HEOR, Market Access & Pricing (Japan)
US-headquartered pharmaceutical company | Long-established Japan operations
A leading US pharma company with a strong, decades-long presence in Japan is seeking a strategic and execution-focused leader to head HEOR, Market Access and Pricing for the Japan business.
This role will shape value strategy across key assets, partnering closely with Global, Medical, Commercial and Regulatory teams to optimize pricing, reimbursement and lifecycle value in one of the world’s most complex markets.
Lead Japan HEOR strategy including RWE, economic modeling and value dossier development
Drive pricing and reimbursement strategy across NHI listings, re-pricing and premium negotiations
Engage with MHLW, Chuikyo and key external stakeholders
Provide market access input from early development through launch and post-launch optimization
Build and develop a high-performing local HEOR/Market Access team
Align Japan strategy with Global value & access frameworks
Requirements
12–15+ years in pharma/biotech with deep Japan market access experience
Proven leadership in pricing negotiations and successful NHI outcomes
Strong understanding of Japanese healthcare policy and reimbursement systems
Experience collaborating with US/EU global teams
Fluent Japanese and business-level English required
