Job Description:

Senior Finance Analyst (SFA) – reporting directly to the R&D Finance Controller (Manager) for a global healthcare organization. This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong operational and strategic financial leadership capabilities, supporting research and development functions in a highly regulated environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial results and analysis to business partners to support decision-making, including project costing, pricing, and other ad-hoc requirements.

  • Ensure financial reporting processes are accurate, timely, and compliant, collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations.

  • Maintain adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards, supporting internal and external audits.

  • Ensure accurate and compliant monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting in collaboration with finance teams across functions and regions.

  • Support intercompany transactions, billing processes, and collaborate with tax teams to ensure regulatory compliance and internal controls.

  • Manage fixed asset processes for business partners and ensure R&D assets are reported accurately and on time.

  • Assist global finance teams with budget planning and forecasting of headcount, functional costs, and capital expenditures. Facilitate business variance analysis reviews with responsible functions.

  • Collaborate with business partners to continuously drive process improvements and operational efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • University degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business Economics; Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Fluent in Japanese and business-level English.

  • Over 5 years of accounting or controlling experience, ideally in roles with international exposure.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence personnel across functions and seniority levels.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Experience in a business partnering role, with the ability to understand complex organizational dynamics and navigate matrix structures.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
