Job Title: Commercial Excellence Manager
Location: Tokyo, Japan

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Excellence Manager to join our Tokyo office. This role will oversee the Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) function as well as the existing Commercial Excellence team. Initially responsible for a small team, the position is expected to grow in scope and impact over time. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills with a strategic mindset to drive commercial performance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Commercial Excellence team, including Sales Force Effectiveness resources.

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies and initiatives to optimize sales effectiveness, productivity, and performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure alignment on business objectives.

  • Monitor and report on key commercial performance metrics, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and analytics for enhanced decision-making.

  • Take ownership of team development, talent planning, and succession planning.

  • Grow responsibilities over time, expanding influence across commercial operations

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field. MBA is a plus.

  • Proven experience managing teams, ideally in a commercial excellence, sales operations, or strategy function.

  • Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred but not mandatory.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in commercial analytics and reporting tools.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
