Position: Junior Communications and Public Relations Specialist

Our Tokyo office is a key regional hub, supporting a broad portfolio of life-changing products and services. Due to business growth, we are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Communications and PR Specialist to join our Communications team.
As a Junior Communications and Public Relations Specialist, you will support internal and external communications activities to enhance our brand reputation and stakeholder engagement in Japan. Assist in the planning and execution of integrated communication strategies aligned with corporate goals and product milestones.
Draft, edit, and localize press releases, media kits, internal announcements, and executive messages in Japanese and English.
Support media relations activities including press briefings, media monitoring, and journalist engagement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, medical affairs, and global communications.
Maintain relationships with external vendors including PR agencies, translation services, and event planners.
Contribute to internal communication initiatives including newsletters, intranet updates, and employee engagement campaigns.
Monitor public sentiment and coverage to inform communication tactics and risk mitigation.
Ensure alignment with local regulatory and compliance guidelines.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree at minimum required. Focus in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field beneficial
Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare communications (in-house or agency).
Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills in both Japanese (native level) and English (business level or higher).
Demonstrated experience supporting media or public relations campaigns in Japan.
Understanding of the healthcare or pharmaceutical landscape, including regulatory considerations.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media monitoring tools; experience with content management systems is a plus.
