[Manager, Therapeutic Area Communications]
Key Responsibilities:
Lead strategic communications for a major therapeutic business unit, supporting the business head and senior leadership.
Develop and execute end-to-end communication plans to increase disease awareness and improve patient access.
Drive campaigns that highlight innovation in key therapeutic areas, targeting healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
Strengthen reputation of the business unit through external engagement and media relations.
Build partnerships with patient groups, influencers, and third-party advocates.
Ensure cross-functional collaboration with internal teams to amplify messaging and align on communication strategies.
Measure performance using KPIs and insight-driven tools.
Manage agencies and budgets to deliver high-impact communication initiatives.
Embed compliance across all communication activities.
Support internal engagement and change management aligned with company culture and transformation efforts.
Provide strategic counsel to senior executives and contribute to leadership team discussions on reputation and positioning.
Lead response during sensitive issues or crises by advising leadership and coordinating messaging.
Collaborate across geographies and functions within a global communication network.
Contribute to capability-building and best-practice sharing within regional and global teams.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree minimum, advanced degree preferred.
8–10 years of experience in strategic communications within corporate, healthcare, or policy environments.
Bilingual fluency required: exceptional Japanese communication skills and strong English proficiency.
Track record in media relations, patient advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.
Strong strategic mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across functions and geographies.
Experience in agency management and budget oversight.
Proven change management and project leadership within complex, matrixed organizations.
