Program Manager

Overview:

Responsible to be the primary contact with customers and to lead the programs in Japan to meet technical requirements, quality, cost and delivery objectives for Japanese customers.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Work with customers to obtain and/or define system requirements and specifications as defined in the Statement of Work and/or the Contract.
• Analyze customer requirements, create an internal working specification/scope statement, and communicate these requirements throughout the organization as per procedure defined.
• Build and maintain close working relationship with customers
• Co-work with Execution PMs to define required program resources, costs and to establish key milestones, deliverables and targets.
• Track program system master schedules, control costs, performance and deliverables, and ensure that they are met.
• Ensure that the functional teams are able to communicate effectively with each other in order to support fast and high quality responses to the customers supported.
• Resolve conflicts as necessary to ensure success of program and customer satisfaction.
• Escalate risks to appropriate leadership in spirit of early intervention; follow defined escalation protocol.
• Lead all program related issues including technical design and implementation.
• Drive continuous improvement and reinforce cost reduction and improvement of program efficiency activities as defined through KPI process.
• Contribute to maintain and continually improve company’s competitive position, gross profit margins and profitability.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering;
• 10+ years of experience in automotive Engineering, Sales and/or Program Management Roles,
• Design engineering experience an asset.
• PMP and MBA preferred.
• Working knowledge of the processes of automotive industries; APQP, IATF16949 and ISO9001.
• Working knowledge of Program/Project Management.
• Fluent Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher)
• Fluent English
