Description

  • Lead new-business pursuits for next-generation advanced safety and user-experience products.

  • Serve as the voice of engineering to the customer—and the voice of the customer back to the engineering team.

  • Drive customer specification analysis with cross-functional technical teams.

  • Own concept selection for product quote proposals.

  • Build high-level development timelines aligned to customer milestones.

  • Align with manufacturing engineering on assembly processes and build plans.

  • Prepare and document engineering resource and cost estimates for program execution.

  • Lead Engineering Quote Reviews throughout the pursuit cycle.

  • Identify technical risks; lead mitigation planning and the FAI process where applicable.

  • Define the quote’s technical assumptions, deviations, and exceptions.

  • Support Business Management and Finance in developing the business case.

  • Support Sales in creating the commercial quote letter.

  • Organize customer Technical Design Reviews during pursuits.

  • Contribute to product strategy and architecture planning; support roadmap development.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related)

  • 8+ years in automotive product development, business development, program management, or customer-facing engineering

  • Proven track record leading cross-functional teams through business development and quoting cycles

Technical Skills

  • Strong grasp of automotive systems, product architecture, and manufacturing processes

  • Experience with risk management and BOM costing

  • Proficient in project planning tools (e.g., MS Project) and resource estimation

 

Business & Communication Skills

  • Excellent customer-facing communication and negotiation skills

  • Able to translate customer requirements into clear technical specs and internal deliverables

  • Strong analytical/problem-solving ability, with emphasis on concept selection and risk mitigation

  • Experience supporting business case development and partnering with Finance and Sales

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Proven ability to lead technical quote reviews and design reviews

  • Skilled at coordinating with global engineering, manufacturing, and business teams

  • Drives alignment across stakeholders and manages competing priorities to deadlines

Other Requirements

  • Fluent in English; Japanese language skills a plus
